About Dr. Babu Elangovan
Dr. Babu Elangovan is an experienced surgical gastroenterologist and minimally invasive GI surgeon with over 20 years of clinical and surgical expertise. He specializes in gastrointestinal, hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB), colorectal, and proctology surgery, with a strong focus on advanced minimally invasive and patient-centric care.
He has extensive experience in managing a wide range of complex gastrointestinal and colorectal disorders, including colorectal cancers, anorectal diseases, abdominal wall and digestive tract conditions, and advanced laparoscopic GI procedures.
Dr. Babu has been actively involved in advanced liver transplant and HPB surgical programs, participating in numerous donor and recipient surgeries as part of multidisciplinary transplant teams in leading tertiary care institutions.
Trained in advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical techniques, he combines surgical precision with evidence-based decision-making to deliver optimal patient outcomes with faster recovery and minimal discomfort.
